Our vacation home is a jewel amidst the bustle of a 21st century lifestyle. With 180 degree ocean views and the waves gently splashing against the beach, it is a soothing adventure. Your stay includes use of our golf cart and the Hamilton Cove community’s amenities: pool, spa, health club, 18-hole putting course, tennis courts, croquet court and volleyball, with built-in barbecues and picnic tables. Some restrictions may apply.

Single night bookings are available when two nights in a row are not available. Please contact us if you would like to book a single night.

The space
We are pleased to offer a Mediterranean style vacation villa on Catalina Island at the prestigious Hamilton Cove Luxury Resort. The villa is in the most desirable location: a true end unit, not sandwiched between other units, with nature to the north and only one neighboring unit to the south. You have ocean and nature views, and a fireplace for cozy evenings overlooking the ocean. Newly installed bamboo flooring adds an island touch of luxury, along with a designer couch that folds out into a very comfortable queen size bed and a designer leather chair with ottoman. The villa offers spacious, airy indoor-outdoor living, with three sets of double doors opening onto a gorgeous balcony with breathtaking views. Most one-bedroom units don’t have the extra office/den with its additional set of double doors.

The resort features 2 tennis courts, a pool, jacuzzi, sauna, gym, volleyball court and croquet court.

Please note: due to allergies we cannot accept pets or service animals in our home, thank you. Hamilton Cove HOA also does not allow any pets or animals to be brought to Hamilton Cove.

Other things to note
Some guests are not familiar with the type of door lock at the condo. To open the door, insert the key and turn it counterclockwise until the door opens. To enable the thumb handle, open the door and press the button on the side of the door, just below the latch. Please let us know if you have any questions.

If you cancel, the amount refunded depends on how far in advance you cancel, counted in calendar days before your arrival date.

30 or more days before arrival: your reservation is refunded in full.
7 to 30 days before arrival: 50 percent of your rent is refunded.
Less than 7 days before arrival: rent is not refunded.
After arrival: rent is not refunded.

Whenever you cancel, the occupancy tax, the cleaning fee and the refundable security deposit are returned to you in full. These are never withheld, at any point.

If you cancel within 24 hours of booking, and you booked at least 3 days before arrival, your reservation is refunded in full regardless of the above.

Refunds are returned to the card used for payment. You will never be refunded more than you have actually paid. If you have paid a deposit but not the balance, the refund is limited to the amount you paid.

Public review: My husband and I had a great time in Avalon, staying at Helmut’s villa! We really enjoyed staying in Hamilton Beach, where it’s located - it’s just a few minutes outside of main part of town. It’s very quiet and secluded, and the views are amazing! The second to last day we were there, we did some exploring around the actual Hamilton Beach villa community (we spent most of our time exploring Avalon) and started chatting with someone who lives there full time who told us there is a pool, hot tub, sauna, exercise room, tennis court, putting course, and a playground all on site - so cool! We had a lot of fun playing the small putting course. The views from the villa are amazing!! The windows that look out to the ocean are what make the villa so spectacular. I appreciated having a kitchen and a large bathroom - it makes a big difference. As did having the golf cart - it was so nice not having to rent one! Everything was very clean, and Helmut arranged for someone who works in the community to bring us firewood our first night since it was chilly. My back is somewhat sensitive, and it was pretty sore each morning after sleeping on the bed (and the couch isn’t the most comfortable for relaxing with a movie), but my husband didn’t have any soreness, so it really depends on how sensitive you are :) I can’t remember if this was mentioned anywhere, I don’t remember reading when we initially booked, but you have to go down a few flights of stairs to get to and from - something to keep in mind if stairs are an issue for you :) Overall we had an amazing trip and very much enjoyed our stay at Helmut’s villa - as we were leaving we were already talked about when we can go back! Private feedback: Thank you for opening your home to us! We had a great time and couldn’t get over how beautiful Hamilton Beach was! We’re excited to come back some day :)

Public review: We got this place as a gift for our parents. They told us after the fact that the stove and microwave didn’t work and the heater didn’t work. The host did not have an opportunity to correct these issues in real time, but we hope they are maintained for future guests. Private feedback: Microwave didn’t work Stove didn’t work Heater had issues. Our parents didn’t inform us until after their trip unfortunately.

Public review: Gorgeous views, beautiful, well maintained, quiet condo complex. Hardly anybody there while we were. It is a bit of a distance from the ferry landing. A nice walk but not so nice if you are carrying luggage and note that it is uphill. The pizza place would not deliver stating Hamilton Cove was too far. The complex is perched on a hill and going up and down the stairs from the top to the room (half way down) and down to the beach is taxing and not for those that aren't in decent shape. I saw no elevators. The central heat did not work. There were space heaters but they threw a breaker and we had to spend some time communicating with the host and locating the key to the locked closet where the breaker box was. There is a fireplace but no wood provided so you need to buy your own if you want a fire. The golf cart is a great and necessary feature given the distance to Avalon but if you are there when it is cold, ask that the covers be placed prior to arrival. They were not when we arrived though the response to my inquiry was prompt as was the offer to place them. Private feedback: Hi Helmut. Thank you for responding so promptly while we were there. We enjoyed our stay. I would suggest the following. If the two space heaters cause a breaker to kick out then only one should be available. Alternatively, have the key to the closet readily available so we can reset the breaker rapidly and this should be mentioned in the house instructions so we don't have to bother you. Also, it should be mentioned that the thermostat heaters don't work. I think one Duralog should be included as an amenity, they cause less smoke damage which I saw currently around your fireplace. And mention in the house instructions that additional Duralogs need to be purchased. One last thing, you might consider mentioning that covers to the golf cart can be placed if requested. It was pretty miserably cold that first night going into town. Thanks again.

Public review: Views from condo are beautiful; setting peaceful, quiet and relatively private (the patio is open to the condo next door). Be prepared for about 50 stairs down to condo and another 150 down to club house (no elevators); however we got some great exercise by doing stairs and using equipment in club house gym. There's also a putting golf course, tennis courts, pool & spa, pebble beach, and small playground in the complex. Downside is no restaurant, so you must drive 1 1/2 miles to Avalon to grocery store and restaurants; having a golf cart available with our condo was a BIG plus! Evenings were cool during our stay in early February, so having a small, movable space heater and fireplace were very nice. (You can get presto logs or firewood at VONS grocery store in town, as none provided at condo.) Just about everything else you need for a comfortable (bed quite comfortable), relaxing getaway was available in the condo, but the condo could use some updating and sprucing up. Despite some inconveniences, we enjoyed our stay very much. Private feedback: The condo has almost everything you might want to be comfortable, but needs some maintenance and updating. It would have been nice to have a fire log for first night we were there. Some of the issues: Microwave not working; hinges broken on windows in den; couch ripped; starter on golf cart pulled out if not very careful when removing key; hooks to hold up the blinds in dining area were missing; windows in dining area dirty. We did appreciate your prompt replies when booking and your restaurant recommendations; we had a wonderful birthday dinner at Avalon Grille. Also appreciated your rental manager, Chela, introducing herself on 2nd day of our stay. Thanks for use of cart. That was a big bonus in that location.
