CORvacations is a sole proprietorship operating vacation rental properties and related services on Catalina Island, California. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with. It applies to our websites at corvacations.com and catalinaoceanresort.com and to the services we provide through them.

Information we collect

From guests, we collect the information needed to take and honour a reservation: name, email address, postal address, telephone number, arrival and departure dates, the property booked, the number of guests, and any requests or notes provided at booking. Where a booking is paid online we collect payment details through our payment processor; we do not store complete card numbers on our systems.

From property owners and hosts, we collect contact details, property information, and the banking or payout details needed to remit amounts owed.

From service providers and contractors, we collect name, mobile telephone number, service type, and records of work assigned and completed.

From visitors to our websites, we collect standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, together with any information submitted through forms.

How we use it

We use this information to take and manage reservations; to arrange cleaning, maintenance and other services at the properties; to process payments and remit payouts; to communicate with guests, owners and contractors about bookings and work; to meet tax, transient occupancy tax and other legal obligations; and to operate and secure our websites.

Who we share it with

We share information only where it is necessary to provide the service: with the owner or manager of the property being booked; with contractors assigned to work at a property, limited to what they need to perform the work; with our payment processor to take payment; and with professional advisers, or with authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Text messaging

We send operational text messages to service providers and contractors who have given written consent, and, where a guest has provided a mobile number and agreed, to guests about their reservation.

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile numbers collected for text messaging, and the record of consent to receive text messages, are used solely to send the messages described in our SMS Terms and are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected and to meet our legal and tax obligations, and we take reasonable measures to protect it against loss and unauthorised access.

Your choices

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
